Tasmanian Charter of Health Rights and Responsibilities
Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights
The Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights describes what health service consumers, or someone for whom they care, can expect when receiving health care.
A detailed guide and a summary booklet of the Australian Charter helps consumers to understand their healthcare rights and what they can expect from the Australian healthcare system. A shared understanding of healthcare rights is important for providing safe and high-quality care. These resources can be used by consumers and clinicians to guide discussions about healthcare rights.
The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Healthcare has developed a range of resources to support people to understand and use the Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights.
ACHCE communiques
The Tasmanian Health Complaints Commissioner is a member of the Australasian Council of Health Complaint Entities (ACHCE). ACHCE members are the independent organisations responsible for handling health complaints in all Australian states and territories and New Zealand.
