  • Aged Care Complaints
    The Aged Care Complaints Commissioner provides a free service for anyone to raise their concerns about the quality of care or services being delivered to people receiving aged care services subsidised by the Australian Government.
  • Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights 
  • A charter of healthcare rights for all people receiving or seeking health care in all settings in Australia. Prepared by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care and endorsed by Australian Health Ministers on 22 July 2008. In light of these developments it is likely that a Tasmanian Charter will no longer be needed and the Australian Charter will be adopted.
  • Australian Commission on Safety and Quality
    The Commission was established to lead and coordinate improvements in safety and quality across the health care system in Australia.
  • Australian Communications and Media Authority
    The ACMA is responsible for the regulation of broadcasting, the internet, radiocommunications and telecommunications.
  • Australian Consumer and Competition Commission
    The ACCC promotes competition and fair trade in the market place to benefit consumers, businesses and the community.
  • Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing
    The Department supports universal and affordable access to high quality medical, pharmaceutical and hospital services, while helping people to stay healthy through health promotion and disease prevention activities.
  • Australian National Disability Abuse and Neglect 1800 880 052
    An Australia-wide telephone hotline for reporting abuse and neglect of people with disabilities using government funded services. Allegations are referred to the appropriate authority for investigation.
  • HealthInsite
    HealthInsite is an Australian Government initiative, funded by the Department of Health and Ageing. It aims to improve the health of Australians by providing easy access to quality information about human health.
  • Medicare
    An agency of the Commonwealth of Australia which delivers a range of payments and health programs to the Australian community. These include Medicare, the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register and the Australian Organ Donor Register.
  • myDr
    myDr, a project of the MIMS Consumer Health Group, is an Australian healthcare website dedicated to providing Australian consumers with comprehensive and relevant health information.
  • Australian Information Commissioner
    On 1 November 2010 the Office of the Privacy Commissioner was integrated into the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). The new Office of the Australian Information Commissioner has been created to bring together three functions: freedom of information, privacy and government information policy.
  • Private Health Insurance OmbudsmanThe Private Health Insurance Ombudsman provides an independent service to help consumers with health insurance problems and enquiries.
